“Self-reflection is the gateway to freedom. It also brings greater appreciation and enjoyment. We begin to enjoy spending time with our own mind, and we enjoy reflecting on our experience of the teachings. Like the sun emerging from behind the clouds, the teachings of the dharma become clear.” — Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche

The Practice

Dr. Ashe is currently focused on providing one on one remote consultation services to patients. He is based in Northern California but sees patients throughout the state using a Telehealth platform and telephonic services.

Modern Psychiatry

As a psychiatrist, Dr. Ashe is a medical doctor that has completed medical school and a medical residency. Because of these skills, he can provide extensive assessment and clinical evaluation of psychiatric conditions such as major depression, anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.  He uses a variety of well-established clinical inventories as part of his assessment and evaluation.  He can order medical tests to evaluate your physical and mental health. For example, Dr. Ashe may order blood work to check your vitamin and iron levels, as well as to assess your thyroid gland. Lifestyle Coaching

Medication support isn’t enough if sleep, nutrition, or exercise habits aren’t supporting mental health. Dr. Ashe helps patients change their lifestyle habits to create positive results.

Mind-Body Medicine

Dr. Ashe teaches patients how to use meditation and mindfulness to stabilize their mood and better manage the natural waves of emotion that we all experience at different times in our lives.

Integrating Psychedelic Experiences

The therapeutic use of psychedelics (including psilocybin, LSD, ketamine and MDMA) can lead to profound spiritual awakenings. Research has shown some benefit for the treatment of depression and PTSD. Dr. Ashe can help patients to integrate the lessons from a psychedelic experience into their daily life so they can experience more purpose, meaning, and fulfillment.

Herbal & Plant-Based Medicine

Prescription medications aren’t the only options for impacting the brain pathways involved with mood regulation. Dr. Ashe can work with patients to use nutritional supplementation and plant-based medicines. He can also screen for contraindications to ensure there are no dangerous interactions between any of the medications and supplements being taken.
